Management

Chairman

Mr. Zulfiqar Ali’s professional career spans over a period of 50 years. He joined the National Fertilizer Corporation in 1969 serving at various senior management level positions. He was instrumental in the raising, construction and later running of the largest urea plant (Pak Saudi Fertilizer Co) of its time in Asia.  He retired from active service in 1995 after which he diverted his entire energies towards the progress and development of Lahore Garrison Grammar School (LGGS). By Allah’s Grace it has been a very successful venture. Over the years LGGS has grown remarkably well enrolling more than 3,000 students.

Mr. Ali is very fond of farming, in his spare time he can be found at his ancestral lands where he loves to employ the latest Agri and farming techniques.

 

 

 

Principal

Ms. Salma Awan is a woman of multiple talents. In addition, to her being an educationist, she is a prolific writer. To her credit she has got seven novels, five short story books and eleven travelogues.

Ms. Awan completed her Masters from Dhakka University in Dhakka, Bangladesh (Formerly East Pakistan). On her return she joined the PAF School Lahore as Principal. She served the school for a couple of years. After her marriage she took an early retirement and devoted her time completely to her family, yet the desire to start an education institution of her own was always there. Finally, in 1990 she was able to translate her desire into reality when she started Lahore Garrison Grammar School (LGGS). She totally invested her mind and soul into this project. Since then,LGGS,by Almighty’s Grace has produced very outstanding students who went on to become Doctors, Engineers, Chartered Accountants etc etc. Her devotion to LGGS can be gauged from the fact that even at the ripe old age of 76 she still devotes at least five to six hours daily to the institute.

Regards her literary activities, these days Ms. Awan is working on two more projects; one is a travelogue about Syria (she was fortunate enough to visit the place before the outbreak of war), second is a short stories collection covering her stays around the world.

 

 

Director of Academic Affairs

Ms. Saadia Shagufta is a masters degree holder in English Literature from the University of Punjab. At LGGS as director of Academic Affairs, she has worked very actively towards the modernization of the curriculum. In addition, she also has made enormous contributions to LGGS by deploying the latest teaching skills and techniques.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Director HR & Students Affairs

Mr. Ghazanfar Ali is a masters degree holder in Finance from the Australian National University. After completing his masters, he worked for twelve years in the investment banking industry. During this period, he held various investment advisory positions at KASB Securities Ltd. He took an early retirement from KASB after which he joined LGGS as Director HR & Student Affairs. These days he is working on digitalizing LGGS systems and developing employee benefit programs.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Director of Admin & Legal Affairs

Mr. Ali is a lawyer by profession. He completed his LLB from Punjab University. Mr. Ali takes care of the administrative and legal affairs of LGGS.
